Each electric bike comes with a subsidy of approximately Rs 50,000, with some regions possibly receiving higher subsidies depending on conditions. Furthermore, the government has arranged interest-free financing of up to Rs 200,000, payable over two years. Since the government will bear the interest, applicants only need to pay a monthly installment, which is expected to fall between Rs 6,250 and Rs 8,333. This makes the scheme affordable for students and workers who would otherwise struggle to purchase an e-bike upfront.
